Best BBQ in town!

This place has everything going for it. Great meats, great beans, great sauces, great service, nice aesthetics. A must stop if you venture through Lake City, Michigan. There are 4 or 5 sauces, I tried all but 1 and the flavors were terrific. The brisket was cooked perfectly. The BBQ beans had a nice flavor also. Best coleslaw I think I've ever had. Also the name has changed to Rustic Hog Barbeque as it has changed owners. Everything I reviewed is related to the food under the new owners. The past owners had good food also but it is a 10/10 now. Nicely done!

This place has really, really good ribs, brisket, pulled pork etc. It's the kind of BBQ one would expect to find in the south, not in Michigan. It's really good and you should try it. I just hope they can make a go of it.🐷

This southern lady absolutely loved the food. It's a cute, southern styled place... definitely will drive the 2 hours from Holland to eat here again!!!!

Out of 10☆Brisket(3☆) was dry, bland, lacked flavor no bark and weak smoke ring. Turkey(4☆)was dry and weak on flavor. Pulled pork (6☆) mostly moist some dry pieces, decent flavor but didnt taste smoked. Sausage (5☆) moist, chunky texture, bland.

We discovered Frontier BBQ while passing through Lake City. It was a treat. Delicious pulled pork. Very good brisket. Many options for sandwiches and meat combo platters. Cute outdoor atmosphere just like they do it in Texas. Worth the stop and take some with.

Good food. We had a BIG order so we ordered they day before. They got our order wrong so it took us two trips to go pick it up but they threw in a bunch of free food to make up for it.

INCREDIBLE!!!! We tried a 1/2 pound of Turkey, 1/4 pound pulled pork, and a 1/4 pound sausage. First time here and we can't wait to go back to try the brisket!!! Everything we had was on par with Franklin's BBQ in Austin. We had high expectations and were not disappointed. Great talking to the owner Kevin as well.

Great smoked everything! Seem to always miss a favorite sides...Mac N cheese ... this time out of Cole slaw too...but beans and potatoe salad

Perfect road trip stop.

So these guys are snowbirds, only here a few months out of the year. I have to say, they don't live up to the hype. I came in at about 12:45 PM and they were already out of pulled pork and mac and cheese. So I got the mixed plate with ribs, brisket, and pinto beans. The ribs were were good, not great. I think the brisket had been crutched too long; it was more like pot roast, honestly. The beans were just awful. They were as flavorless and unpleasant as a spoonful of grease. I couldn't eat more than two bites. Also, the BBQ sauce was too thin for my liking, and there was no fountain drink machine. I've definitely had worse, but I won't be coming back to this place again.
